Pornography: A Contemporary Psychosexual Perspective

Approved for 6 IACP CPD Hours

Pornography is becoming an increasingly common topic in the therapy room—yet many of us receive little or no formal training in how to work with it confidently, ethically and without judgement.

Whether clients present with concerns about pornography use, relationship impact, sexual functioning, shame, compulsive patterns, or simply want to explore their relationship with sexual media, therapists are often left navigating complex conversations without a clear clinical framework.

I'm delighted to be delivering this new CPD workshop, which offers a contemporary, evidence-informed psychosexual perspective on pornography and its place in modern clinical practice.

Together we'll explore:

• The psychosexual impact of pornography across individuals and relationships
• Personal, cultural and professional biases and how they influence our work
• Contemporary research and clinical perspectives
• The debut of the Pornography Use Formulation Framework (PUFF)—a collaborative formulation model designed to support assessment, psychoeducation, therapeutic dialogue and intervention
• Practical approaches to increasing confidence when working with pornography-related presentations
